Charalampos Markoutsas, Piano Tutor

Charalampos Markoutsas, piano tutor
Charalampos Markoutsas, a distinguished Greek musicologist, orchestral conductor, composer, and piano teacher, has recently joined the esteemed faculty at the Piano Academy of Ireland in Dublin. With over a decade of experience in creating innovative music ensembles and performing his compositions, Charalampos brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to our academy.

Charalampos embarked on his musical journey at the age of 10, learning piano and clarinet while delving into music theory and harmony. In 2010, he earned a scholarship to study at the Ionian University – Faculty of Music & Audiovisual Arts of Corfu Island, Greece, where he completed his integrated Master in Music Performance (Orchestral Conducting) in 2015. He furthered his education with a second Master in Music Performance (Orchestral Conducting) from TU Dublin – Conservatory of Music & Drama in 2019, and recently attained the prestigious LRSM Diploma in Piano Teaching in 2023.

Charalampos has established a significant presence on the Greek National music scene. He has led numerous projects in collaboration with the Zakynthos Plucked Strings Orchestra, reviving and performing forgotten Folk and Classical Music works from Zakynthos Island, thereby illuminating a rich musical era of the 19th century. He also founded the EnChroma Orchestra, an international ensemble featuring both professional and amateur musicians. Charalampos contributes as a pianist and clarinetist, arranging classical, soundtrack, and jazz pieces for public concerts and educational performances, including presentations at primary schools.

An expert in Orchestral Performance Pedagogy, Charalampos has participated in numerous international conducting seminars and masterclasses. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Music Performance (Orchestral Conducting) at the Ionian University – Faculty of Music & Audiovisual Arts of Corfu Island, Greece.

Since 2015, Charalampos has been dedicated to teaching music to both adults and children in Greece and Dublin. Known for his friendly and adaptive teaching approach, he excels in imparting both artistry and technique. Charalampos specializes in classical and modern music genres, offering lessons in piano, music theory, composition, and ensemble conducting tailored to each student's unique needs and goals. He effectively prepares students for theory and performance exams (ABSRM and RIAM), ensuring they achieve their highest potential.
We are thrilled to have Charalampos as part of our team, where his expertise and passion for teaching will inspire and nurture the next generation of musicians.
